KEITH OLSON -PHOTOGRAPHER – SERIES I

I took this photo at a local nursery!  Butterflies clearly demonstrate their preference for bright, colorful flowers such as a coneflower shown here.

For the above hummingbird photo:  This, to me, was a once in a lifetime opportunity to have two tiny hummingbirds arrive at our feeder together.  The additional miracle was that they remained in place long enough for a photo!

Always a special treat to welcome the pollinators to our garden.  This honey bee is busy collecting pollen from one of our coneflowers!
Bumble Bees are a constant in our garden during Spring and Summer.  I find that they tend to linger a little longer in their quest for nectar.  This photo was submitted and accepted by National Geographic Gallery.
Mother Nature often shares glimpses of special moments!  This was clearly one of them.  A Red Admiral Butterfly being hugged by petals on a daisy!  I was amazed at what I was seeing, and remained long enough to capture the next surprise.
The daisy petals unfolded.  Look closely to see the butterfly hovering over an unlucky insect!!!
