KEITH OLSON – PHOTOGRAPHER – SERIES IV

Always rewarding to have bluebirds frequent our feeders.  Here are two talking it over perched on the rim of a water bowl. The bowl is right beside the feeder so all their needs are met in close proximity!!!

This was taken in a park that I, along with the neighborhood kids, played in almost every day!  So, being so familiar with the park’s natural beauty, I prowled around during a 2017 snow.  Many rewards at every turn, especially on the “low hanging fruit” with their frosty wardrobe!
This fella was dangling on our garage door.  I thought it was so gracious of him to spin low enough for my  lens to capture his lovely arthropod image!!!

A beautiful snow in December, 2017 created many icy images in our garden.  Being able to zoom in on the formations dangling from branches, twigs and leaves was an opportunity that beckoned!  Fingers got a bit chilly but, a mug of hot chocolate restored the blood flow!!
Our bird feeder attaches to the deck rail, and provides endless photo worthy images.  This icicle was hanging from the feeder roof, and there was no way I could allow such a beauty to melt before capturing the frosty image.
Puffed and ready for the frosty elements!!!  Such a treat to have a front row seat on the beautiful wildlife that chooses to visit our fauna and flora throughout the year!  Am thinking this is a young bluebird fledgling.
Arrange a bright red male cardinal nestled on a branch bearing a very heavy load of snow, and you have a possible Hallmark Christmas card!!!  So thankful the camera and I caught one of nature’s best combinations and placed it in plain view of our breakfast room window!!!
It was fortunate I was able to get a photo of the load bearing pyracantha shrub before the birds descended and feasted on tasty, ripe berries.

    1. Thank you so much, Joyce, for your kind comment. I tend to be a nature nerd which is pretty obvious!! More to come!!!
