When our son Paul and his wife Toni lived in Sitka, Alaska we visited them several times to enjoy the spectacular scenery and varied outdoor activities. We walked along beaches, mountain trails and harbor walkways at different seasons.Come join us as we explore!
AT THE BEACH
Everyone enjoys the beach, especially Golden Retrievers like Greta!
Toni finds interesting rock, water, and sand patterns during sunset beach walks.
ON MOUNTAIN TRAILS
We could access the Sitka Cross trail close to Paul’s and Toni’s house.A gentle hike led us through trees and over a bridge for scenic views.
Many interesting sights were along the trail, such as our great-grandson Orion in a tree and a giant face on a tree!
WINTER TRAILS
Winter trails were especially beautiful. The first snow contrasted with the last blaze of color, and later snow was deep enough for Greta to play.
Next week in SITKA SCENES II, do join me and we will visit the harbor and see the variety of boats filling the marinas!
