We have had several memorable Thanksgivings in Sitka with Paul and Toni, their friends (both human and canine), our mutual friends Keith and Kathy Biever, and great-grandson Orion. All included delicious food, shopping early for Christmas, and exploring the many delights of Sitka. Our most “exciting” Thanksgiving there was 2011.
We were greeted by Paul,Toni, three dogs, and the beginning of an early snowstorm!
KATHY BAKES APPLE &PUMPKIN PIES
Keith and Kathy were due to arrive the day after we came and theirs was the last plane to land for a few days!Lucky us, because Kathy was the designated baker for Thanksgiving rolls and pies.
ORION
Our great-grandson Orion provided a “kid fix” for all of us!He loved Kathy’s pumpkin pie, doing puzzles with Tim and Paul, and going to see Santa at the holiday fair with Lorelie and Toni.
OUT AND ABOUT IN SITKA TOWN
We all enjoyed activities and exploring Sitka in the snow.Tim and Paul went walking and skiing with the dogs, and we all were treated to brunch on Keith’s and Kathy’s last day. After brunch we had our group photo downtown.
It was time to do some serious Christmas shopping before we left Sitka, so we could enjoy an early family gift exchange. We all enjoyed Orion’s new book, and Paul sent us home with a fish box of salmon and shrimp.
IT WAS A HAPPY THANKSGIVING
