ARIZONA WINTER SUN BREAK IV – TUCSON – Texts & Photographs by Lorelie Olson

It was late winter and the Tucson desert was calling to us once again!  We were selling our condo and buying a home in Everett, so we really needed a vacation before moving!

The Sunrise Ridge sign and the short drive to the house and entry garden welcomed us again to the lovely desert area.

After unpacking we strolled through the house, enjoying Susan’s art and flower arrangements.  Then we moved out to the patio, where the lounge tempted Tim to relax.

Tim and Bear, the Reynolds’ little dog, were dedicated sun seekers!  They enjoyed the late afternoon on the back patio and the early morning warmth on the side patio, with the scent of blooming honeysuckle!

We planned our desert walks before the mid-morning heat.  The plants were beginning to bloom, and the bright green of new growth  contrasted with sand and rocks.  Sunscreen, sunglasses, and water bottles were needed for our walks!

We took some time out from computer and business chores connected with our real estate transactions.  Especially enjoyable were excursions for lunch and patio bridge with Tucson friends Bobbie and Sally and dinners at Mexican restaurants with Tom and Susan.

On our last evening, we relaxed with a delicious patio supper and a gorgeous sunset.

Thanks again to our Tucson hosts!  We look forward to another trip!
