Lorelie and I invite you to join us in a walk though the seasons and appreciate the evergreen and deciduous trees that surround and tower over us in SHADY GROVE.
SPRING
In spring the Ponderosa pines dominate the skyline with their shiny new needles. Breezes carry the sweet fragrance of these air cleansing trees.
The deep purple of a Norwegian sentry maple gives contrast and depth to the lighter spring colors
A Spring Snow crabapple with glorious white blossoms announces, “SPRING IS HERE!”
The pink Eastern Red Bud bloom floats above the grass and shrubs.
The Smoke tree’s fluorescent lime colored leaves brighten and add luminescence to the spring season.
SUMMER
The rustling of aspen and birch leaves bring music to the garden in the summer.
The vine maples, twig dogwoods, and evergreens delight the eye with several shades of green.
The trees’ shade provides cool places for resting.
AUTUMN
Maples, Sumacs, Smoke Trees and Burning Bushes glow with a final burst of yellow, gold and crimson before dropping their leaves with the coming of winter.
WINTER
When the first snow falls in early winter and the deciduous trees are bare of leaves, the firs’ and pines’ branches bend but do not break and greet us with their brightness on a winter morning!
