Lorelie and I are delighted to introduce two special Golden Retrievers, Kala and Sandy to you. These two Goldens are loving and loved members of the Michelle & Karl Olson family.
Before you enjoy these “Golden Moments” with Sandy and Kala, I will quote poet Stanley Kunitz making a significant point about the life we share with plants and animals:
“There’s something very important to me about having a kind of relationship with plants and animals, that can be transacted wholly without language. The warmth of one’s body is a form of communication. The stroke of one’s hand is a means of communication . . . I get a sense of reciprocity that is very comforting, consoling. . .
There are forms of communication beyond language that have to do not only with the body but with the spirit itself, a permeation of one’s being. . .One of the great satisfactions of the human spirit is to feel that one’s family extends across the borders of the species and belongs to everything that lives.”

My beautiful beautiful girls. These two have saved me from myself more than once. Often they start comforting me before I even know why I am upset.
Sandy knows best. She is always up for a drive- always watching and ready when needed. She lives her life so fully each day- I can’t imagine life when she wasn’t there. Life is such a circle- she has cared so deeply for me and now, as she slows down and needs me more, I get to return the favor.
Oh, wow! Melt me.
This was so much fun to see. Kayla was such a water dog. She never stopped being a puppy. Sandy is a lover.
