A MEMORABLE WHIDBEY VISIT -By Lorelie Olson

Our visit to Dave and Joyce included a variety of experiences: ferry trips, sightseeing,  beach and garden walks, wonderful dinners, and sailboat viewing.

AT PORT TOWNSEND

We drove to Port Townsend to catch the Whidbey Island ferry, with a stop along the way to check on Freyja at Marty’s Marrowstone Island Boat Shop. While we waited we could watch sailboats and the arriving ferry, and appreciate the Victorian houses on top of the bluff.

AT MUTINY BAY

The beachfront condo was a welcome sight, and the warm sunny weather promised good walks and outdoor enjoyment.

GARDENS

Joyce and her neighbor have been gardening around the new patio and entry grounds – everything color-coordinated in yellow, blue and white

A FIELD TRIP

Tim and Dave enjoyed a visit to the home of a shipwright and his gardener wife.

The current boat project was a derelict Blanchard 33 sailboat that would hopefully be sound, beautiful and seaworthy.

FAVORITE ISLAND ACTIVITIES

Walking on the beach, reading and talking in the sunshine, dining at a fine restaurant and enjoying views and sunsets were opportunities to catch up and relax.

Thank you for joining us on this memorable island visit,  and thanks to Dave and Joyce for sharing their island life.
