Diverse feelings accompany the coming of the fall season. After a growing time for plants comes the harvest, after the greens of summer come the colors of fall, after the heat of summer comes the cool of fall, after the lingering sunsets of summer come the rapid onsets of darkness. How are you and I to feel about fall? Perhaps feelings are similar to the weather that can change from sunny to stormy within a few hours.
Keith’s photography and the selected poems embrace the variety of feelings of fall.

YELLOW LEAVES – RED LEAVES
By David Budbill
Yellow leaves,
red leaves,
brown leaves,
chrysanthemums
and day and night
geese
pointing south
and crying:
Good-bye!
HAVE YOU HEARD THE CRICKET SING
By Winston O. Abbott
Beauty gathered in the
brightness of the sunny
hours —
Is often best remembered in quiet dark —
one
lonely
night
I heard
the hurrying footsteps
of the wind amid the
drying leaves —
and it was autumn—
AUTUMN
By David Lee
A red-tailed hawk
hangs in a tattered gray cloud
delineating the wind,
A bright leaf caught
in the bellyful of the torn storm.
LEAVES
By Elisa N Brady
How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground To lay a carpet, rich and rare, Beneath the trees without a care, Content to sleep, their work well done, Colors gleaming in the sun.
At other times, they wildly fly Until they nearly reach the sky. Twisting, turning through the air Till all the trees stand stark and bare. Exhausted, drop to earth below

Thank you so very much! Fall provides such beauty, and, living in central NC is a bonus with being rewarded at every turn with trees competing for Best-in-Show!!
