You are invited to join Tim, Lorelie, Cathy, and David on a visit to the restored Heronswood garden in Kingston.
The original garden was centered around the home of Dan Hinkley and Robert Jones, who moved there in 1987. During their stay on the 15 acre property, Hinkley and Jones developed a formal garden near their house, and expanded the scope of their vision with a nursery and exotic plants which they found on their world travels.
In 2000, Heronswood was sold to the Burpee Seed Company, which later declared bankruptcy, so by 2006 the garden was closed.
After years of neglect the Port Gamble S’Kallam Tribe purchased Heronswood at auction and became dedicated to rediscovery of lost plants and development of new garden areas and collections.
THE FORMAL GARDEN BY HERON HOUSE
We hope you will come along with us and enjoy David Ziegler’s close-ups of the the colors, shapes, and textures of flowers in Heronswood II and and also join us in a shady woodland garden in Heronswood III.
