When Lorelie and I lived in Shoreline and Edmonds, our golden retrievers and I had two favorite walks: the beach between Richmond Beach and Edmonds where the dogs could romp, swim and roll in all sorts of yucky stuff and to circle Green Lake with the dogs, their coats brushed, shiny and plumy tails waving at heel by my side. Often, especially in fall and winter, the beach would be a solitary walk with gulls and sandpipers for company. In circling Green Lake, I always had people for company and we would often pass each other with welcoming smiles and, of course, the dogs received lots of pets!
Lee’s photographs capture the serenity and beauty of two very different waterfront settings during the autumn months.
