NORTHWEST GARDEN & FLOWER SHOW III – “LANDSCAPES WITH ROCKS, WATER, AND WOOD” – Photographer- Lee Lageschulte; Text – Lorelie Olson

Lee welcomes you to another photographic tour of garden show landscapes, featuring the use of natural materials that can be adapted for home gardens.

ROCKS IN THE GARDEN

Although large rock installations should be done by a professional company, they can be worth the total cost, since they provide a permanent  and dramatic structural feature in the garden. Smaller rocks can be used to build walls, edge walkways and raised bed, or arrange in groups or cairns.

ROCKS, PLANTS, AND WATER FEATURES

Many artificial water features are enhanced if they are combined with rocks and plantings. Waterfalls, streambeds, and fountains offer dramatic focal points and provided restful background sounds.

ROCKS, WATER AND WOOD

Combining natural materials can enhance plantings and provide visual transitions between different garden areas, structures and pathways.
