Join Lee and Roger as they tour the colorful spring tulip fields in Mount Vernon. “Tulip Town” is their first destination on a pilgrimage to savor these iconic displays.
Founded by Dutch immigrants in 1984, TULIP TOWN is a Skagit Valley farm and garden center that displays over 55 tulip varieties on 5 acres. Including refreshment areas, a boutique shop, and trolley rides, TULIP TOWN offers a welcoming experience for all ages!
The murals of 17th century canal scenes celebrate the Dutch origins of the thriving tulip bulb industry. Although the tulips originally came from Asia, their exotic beauty lent an exotic touch to gardens of the rich, and the rarest bulbs were bought and traded for huge sums between 1634 and 1637. Wealthy speculators engaged in this brief market bubble known as “Tulipmania”, until the inflated prices could not be sustained. The beauty of tulips and their adaptability to Dutch growing conditions, however, continued to appeal to gardeners and farmers; these factors became the basis for the bulb industry in Holland.
I hope you enjoy this colorful visual experience of TULIP TOWN.
We invite you to join us soon at ROZENGARDEN tulip displays.
