Two of THANKSGIVING’Smajor themes are grateful HEARTS and a sharing of the HARVEST. For Lorelie and me the NESTER blog provides the opportunity for many of us to share the harvest of our lives. Memoirs, paintings, poetry, gardens, journeys and more are shared with others in these posts. Several people have communicated with us in different ways that they look forward to the arrival of new posts in the Nester. We think that this blog is part of the “light” that does brighten our lives. There are so many talents, gifts, skills and interesting lives that could be shared. The NESTER blog provides a platform to do that. Do take the time to enjoy the wonderful posts that Lee, Joyce, David, Toni &. Paul share with you! And do consider sharing with others!
Toni, Paul, Spirit & Sika live in the woods and each day, regardless of the season, finds them either walking the many trails surrounding their home in Ponderosa or exploring familiar and new trails in the forests near their home on the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains. They invite you to join them on a fall day in the woods and enjoy Toni’s photographs that she shares with us!
TONI'S WORLD - CLOSE-UP
What do I see when I first see the above photograph? What do you see? What does Toni see? Well, of course, it’s a burnt out stump. I pause for a moment. It’s a whale’s tail!
Toni and Paul are spellbound by the sea and the forest! Ah, they fascinate all of us. And each is both alluring and simultaneously fearful! The deeper we are in the woods or the farther away we are from land, the more we are aware of those emotions. Paul & Toni by the way they have lived their lives know what it means when Judy Collins sang “Both Sides Now”.
Joyce and Dave Wagar, our next two woods walkers, haven’t lived on the water or in the woods, and they are as entranced by the forests and the sea as Paul and Toni. Their life’s experiences have made them aware of the allure and the fear of the sea and the forest. In the summer they live on the beach on Mutiny Bay. In winter they live in Kirkland and almost every day they are walking the trails near their home or strolling to nearby Lake Washington.
Dave and Joyce invite you to join them for a walk in the woods and Joyce’s artist’s eye brings us closer to what she experiences!
