After the holiday events are over, decorations are boxed in a closet, new clothes are worn, a new painting is hung on a wall, and new kitchen appliances and shop tools are already in use, January arrives with its cold weather, icy streets and sidewalks. We are ready for a “quiet” time snuggled close to the fireplace with a shawl keeping us warm. A perfect time to reflect on our joyful memories! We take time to appreciate Dave’s new painting on the Wagar’s Christmas card and look at the other cards we have received.
We invite you to share these highlights of ours and remember your own as we begin the new year.
THE WAGAR HOLIDAY LUNCHEON
This event is always a festive gathering for our special group of long-time friends! Christmas decorations, delicious food, cards and gifts, and shared memories begin our holiday season!
A PONDEROSA CHRISTMAS
December also brought a visit to Ponderosa from Toni’s Alaska family. We enjoyed the photos of their getting ready to cut a tree for the living room, and opening gifts! We wish we had been there, but invite you to join us vicariously!
AN EVERETT CHRISTMAS
“Christmas Central”was again at the home of Karl and Michelle. Gala decor, sumptuous holiday foods, and company of family and special friends created a memorable Christmas holiday!
Keith and Kathy stayed overnight with us on Christmas Eve, their first time after 40 years of Maui Christmases! For a bit of nostalgia we gave them “symbolic” gifts stocking gifts to celebrate our many Christmas vacations there with them.
After many giggles and sharing Maui memories, we returned to Michelle’s and Karl’s for Christmas morning brunch. Guests and family continued into the afternoon and enjoyed a complete Christmas dinner.
Michelle and Karl were not quite finished with holiday hosting. So they invited several Olson cousins and their dogs, of course, and us. We were again delighted to toddle up for the grand occasion.
