From Lorelie & Tim:

Keith Olson, a North Carolina resident and a wonderful photographer, shares with you new photos from a cold, snowy winter in the South. We have added to these, favorite winter scenes from Keith’s past posts in the NESTER.

The poet Percy Bysshe Shelley wrote, “If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?” In March I might add that “Spring is just ahead.”  Actually in North Carolina, spring is already there! Another writer, Lewis Carroll wrote in Alice in Wonderland, “I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, ‘Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.’”

We are pleased to look back for a moment at winter, and then be ready to fully greet the coming of spring.
