You are invited to read Dave Wagar’s poem and view his painting from a card sent to friends in late January. After an initial scanning of thepainting and poem, we returned to them and spent more time with them. Dave’s art moved us through its imagery and meaning. These are special and you too will appreciate and be moved by them.
Dave has Parkinson’s and several of his senses are impaired. These works of art are personal and have meaning for all of us.

WINTER COLOR JOYS
By Dave Wagar
When Nature’s colors fade to muddy hues,
and soggy mists and darkness fill the day,
we will go out and hunt for warmer hues
to feed our souls and burn away the gloom-
rainbows of mushrooms and cushions of heather,
bright-crested wood ducks down by the shore
and shiny green leaves that will stay green all winter.
Be sure to see Nature’s best treasure of all –
people with young ones out hunting for joy.
