I invite you to join Tim & me on a trip down “Memory Lane . . .”. Join us as we linger over photographs from early scrapbooks that bring feelings of nostalgia, gratitude, and seasonal joy.
I’ll begin with with my childhood before Tim entered the picture and when my dad, Fred, took all the photographs – lots of them!

"NAVY" CHRISTMASES
As a Navy family, my parents and I lived in many temporary homes, but we always celebrated the holidays with friends or family, delicious food, gifts, “dress-up clothes” and a decorated tree, no matter where we lived. My scrapbook photos show that these traditions continued for the rest of my life.
My father Fred was the family photographer after he returned from World War II overseas duty. When we moved to Great Lakes, Illinois, he took us to festive parties on board his ship. A later transfer to Hawaii meant new tropical holidays with the same traditions.
BALLARD CHRISTMASES
After my father retired from the Navy, our new Ballard home was the gathering place fom many family celebrations. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents all enjoyed Mother’s cooking.
When Tim and I married, he became part of our extended Norwegian family.
LAKE FOREST PARK CHRISTMASES
Our home in Lake Forest Park gave Tim and me a chance to host Christmas Eve for my parents and friends Lee and Roger.
These were definitely child-centered occasions, with adorable little ones, with our Paul and David and Lisa Lageschulte.
RICHMOND BEACH CHRISTMASES
My parents moved to Richmond Beach when our sons were little, and soon we moved there too, only three blocks away! Many Christmases were spent at both houses: Christmas Eve and morning at ours, and Christmas afternoon at my parents. Tim’s parents Roy and Ida joined us often, as did company of friends and family.
MEMORABLE TIMES FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS
CHRISTMAS IN EVERETT
I hope this season brings festive times and quiet moments for reflection for all of us.
Loved looking at this! Lorelie your hair styles were fun.
