“JUNK FOOD JAG” By lorelie & tim Olson

Ah, the hustle and bustle of Christmas. I’ve never been able to keep up with it all.  Especially purchasing and wrapping presents. My dad never did any of it – he left it all for Mom.  Well, Lorelie and I don’t have that kind of marriage. I’m thankful for that –  most of the time.  But buying and wrapping presents?  Yup, Fast food for energy and brave the mall on Christmas Eve.  Every year! Some years ago I wrote a silly poem and Lorelie said,  “That’s pretty good’ I could improve it!”  Hope you enjoy the poem. This is the way it was!   Tim

JUNK FOOD JAG

Screech to a halt, brake to the floor,

Dash through the lot, barge through the door.

Look at the menu, get in the line.

Make my choice, not much time.

Put in the meat,

Wrap up the bun.

Do it quick,

I’m on the run.

Hear the burgers sizzle and flop,

Mustard and catsup squished on the top.

Look at the fries so salty and thin,

Slimy and pale from the deep fry bin.

Put in the meat,

Wrap up the bun.

Do it quick,

I’m on the run.

My strawberry shake goes plop in the cup,

Non-dairy products filling it up.

Burger, fries and shake in a bag,

A two dollar meal for a junk food jag.

Put in the meat,

Wrap up the bun.

Do it quick,

I’m on the run.

Back in the car, cruisin’ the street,

One hand on the wheel, tryin’ to eat.

Stopped at the light, time for a slurp,

Dig out a fry, roll out a burp.

Did it quick,

I’m on the run.

Shop for an hour

Open presents tomorrow!
