These lovely plants are relatively low-maintenance and can thrive in various climates. They typically bloom in late spring to early summer. One of the best things about lilacs is their intoxicating scent. Their sweet fragrance wafts through the air, attracting bees, butterflies, and other pollinators to your garden.

While often hailed as the “harbinger of spring”, lilacs for us are the fulfillment of spring. The Olsons’ gardens are rooted in the foothills east of the Cascade Mountains and in the west on the shore of Puget sound. The lilac season stretches from early spring until early summer!
We hope you have enjoyed this immersion in the beauty of lilacs! But something is missing. The only way to experience the scent of lilacs is to be near them and they are “EVERYWHERE”!

My mom’s birthday was May 15 and these are one of the flowers that always make me think of her.
Lovely! Lilacs always remind me of the Lilac Festival every spring in Spokane when I was a kid. The fragrance of lilacs filled the air.
