JERRY & KEITH OLSON'S UNITED STATES BORDER "ODYSSEY" - SOUTH DAKOTA - MINNESOTA

South Dakota and Minnesota were mostly just travel. The museums related to Native Americans were all very interesting. Many of them seemed to me to be improvements on what I had seen on trips long ago.

When we were in Minnesota. the focus was on family and the farm which has been in the Brewer family for four generations. I recall my mother, grandmother and aunts visiting relatives, both the living and those who had passed on. So, we went to the cemetery at Mansfield Lutheran Church to pay our respects.

We tend to think of the Great Lakes as our lakes. The trip across the north shore of Lake Superior was a constant delight and pleasure. It started with a fox popping up in grass, scenery along the lakes and other surprises.

While we were driving in fog, there was a slight clearing, and we enjoyed driving along a very bright multicolored cliff beside the highway.

After Niagara Falls we are homeward bound. We traveled down the Hudson River to visit friends in New York. Then finished with a dash through New Jersey and Washington D. C. and arriving home in North Carolina.
