Near the beginning of the twentieth century, Rasmus and Engel came to America, settled down to farm and had eight children.  Since Engel and Rasmus are my grandparents, I am looking at my aunts, uncles and cousins.  How and where they lived their lives has had a direct impact on who I am today.  

The Christmas season is a wonderful time to reflect upon and to be grateful to those who came before us and contributed to who we are and the way we live our lives.

My son Karl and I have always been fascinated by miniature scenes and objects. My father’s model railroad, included not only the trains and tracks, but also the town buildings and scenery. At Christmas our love of miniatures expands to include small figurines and objects that represent all aspects of this holiday season. Make yourselves tiny and tour with us!

The traditional Thanksgiving gathering of the Olson clan in homes located from Richmond Beach to North Bend changed in the years prior to 2020. In 2018 we celebrated the day with Michelle’s parents in Port Angeles and in 2019, a dear friend and Standing Rock neighbor, Karen, planned a festive Thanksgiving day at Mary’s Standing Rock home together with Karl’s and Michelle’s family, Paul, Michelle’s parents Jan and Dave, several friends and vizlas and one golden retriever.
