A NOVEL – AGNES ON THE MOVE – CHAPTER 1 – BY LORELIE & TIM OLSON

Meet Agnes, an ordinary gray tabby with an extraordinary talent for mischief and adventure.

A scrawny kitten from a funeral home, she joins the Rasmussen family and becomes a confident, clever, and almost magical cat.  Agnes disappears into hiding places where she can’t be found; she finds ways to join her people on adventures; she manages to satisfy unusual food tastes. Although never a mean cat, she lets the Rasmussens know when her desires are thwarted, but rewards them with purrs when she is happy.

In AGNES ON THE MOVE, Agnes becomes determined to join her people on their trip to Disneyland, where she hopes to stalk Mickey Mouse. How will she hide in the car? What adventures and challenges await her? How does she become a Disneyland attraction?

OLSON GARDENS VII – SHADY GROVE GARDEN IS COLORFUL FOR MEMORIAL DAY

In Beaver Valley a brief spring becomes a long summer in late May. It is in this crease between spring and summer when the valley bursts in splendid  color from the fresh green tips of the conifers’s branches and leaves of the deciduous trees to the variety of colors of the flowering shrubs and wildflowers.   In Shady Grove Garden we add eye catching color to the native plants with cultivars including perennials, shrubs, annuals and flowering trees.

Do join us in enjoying the lovely colors  in SHADY GROVE GARDEN this Memorial Day weekend.

David Zeigler – writer – BEING CALLED PETER

David Zeigler, the photographer, is familiar to NESTER readers who enjoy his photos in the Artists category.  Less familiar is David the writer.  He has written mysteries, short stories, and essays.  In this post David writes a short piece about which he asked me, “Where do ideas like this come from?” and said “The creative process is really mysterious.”  David’s ever roving mind considers the question,”What’s in a person’s name?” in this selection, BEING CALLED PETER by  Peter Brent, a pseudonym.
