IN THE GARDEN

OLSON GARDENS XIII – INDOOR GARDENING WITH TROPICAL PLANTS -By Lorelie Olson

Since high school botany class I have been fascinated by plants, but was not able to indulge my gardening interests until we bought our first home. When winter weather discouraged outdoor gardening I began to see the possibilities of indoor gardens and decorating with tropical plants. Come inside our Everett home and meet my favorites!

OLSON GARDENS XII – ART IN THE GARDENS – Photo Credits: Lorelie Olson, Toni Olson & Lynda Woltring

During  many of our garden tours and visits we were impressed by the garden art that enhanced the plantings and appeared integral to the garden itself.

We were motivated to incorporate our own versions of garden art, first in the large Shady Grove country garden, then in the much smaller Everett garden.

We invite you to view these sculptures of glass, metal, wood, and concrete, as they and their plant companions provide an engaging visual treat.

OLSON GARDENS VII – SHADY GROVE GARDEN IS COLORFUL FOR MEMORIAL DAY

In Beaver Valley a brief spring becomes a long summer in late May. It is in this crease between spring and summer when the valley bursts in splendid  color from the fresh green tips of the conifers’s branches and leaves of the deciduous trees to the variety of colors of the flowering shrubs and wildflowers.   In Shady Grove Garden we add eye catching color to the native plants with cultivars including perennials, shrubs, annuals and flowering trees.

Do join us in enjoying the lovely colors  in SHADY GROVE GARDEN this Memorial Day weekend.
