The sun was shining on fresh snow at Stevens Pass as we headed east to our mountain cabin. When we arrived it was almost dusk, and the cabin was a welcome sight.
After unpacking we enjoyed the first of several candlelightsuppers and cozy evening fires with Paul and Toni. These were usually followed with quiet evening activities like playing Scrabble, watching favorite TV programs, listening to music, and enjoying their Golden Retriever, “Spirit.”
On Christmas Eve we prepared for our traditional Norwegian celebration, starting with supperthat included meatballs and lefse of course! Then we opened gifts, with “Christmas Spirit” joining in the fun!
A fresh snowfall increased the beauty of our White Christmas and encouraged outdoor fun.
During the weekend we walked around the community and enjoyed outdoor visits with neighbors, exchanging small gifts, homemade goodies, and conversations.Spirit loved the hikes and snowball games with her human and furry friends!
We gratefully reflect on our cozy and relaxing holiday, and now we are getting ready to welcome 2021.May we all have a happy and peaceful New Year!
