JERRY & KEITH OLSON’S UNITED STATES BORDER “ODYSSEY” IV – ALBERTA, MONTANA, WYOMING

You are welcomed to the fourth post of the special NESTER Journey series featuring Jerry and Keith Olson’s car trip around the circumference of the United States. This Journey series features scenic vistas, and Keith’s artist’s eye captures unexpected images. Jerry’s & Keith’s added narratives and family photos add context to the journey! You will enjoy the entire series!

MOUNTAINS WEST

This is a grouping of areas all related to the Canadian and American Rockies. The goal was visiting family and friends. The family was special since my niece Susan, and I share a 15 February birth date. The friend was from the Navy, who I suspect after years at sea decided to settle in Colorado, which is as far as you can get from deep water. On the Canadian side Banff and Lake Louise were incredible.

The unexpected was at Lake Moraine. A gentle roar from the high mountainside heralded an avalanche.

MONTANA

Moving south past Flathead Lake we went to Yellowstone. The unexpected was winding up in a herd of bison moving to summer pasture. Closeup photos of bison that would otherwise not be safe in open pasture. Speed limit bison walking.
